36x24 | Oil on canvasIn the late 60s my sister’s first car was a blue VW Beetle on which I learned how to drive with a stick shift, something that comes in handy now. It’s hard for a stick shift to be stolen since most young people haven’t a clue how to drive them. This well-used VW on a street in Mexico spoke to me and like the portraits I like to paint, the animated looking car is looking directly at you.
